Sevenoaks Area Mind - Art Exhibtion

Sevenoaks Area Mind - Changing Mental Health Services

Sevenoaks Area Mind Art Group, who have been meeting at Knole House since early 2009, have been focussing on producing group pieces of art. An exhibition of the artwork at the Orangery, Knole House will be open to the public from Wednesday 11 August 2010. “The group have found and developed new skills in a very sociable environment” said Tracy Smith-Dance, Head of Services at the Sevenoaks based charity. She continued “The exhibition is an ideal way to demonstrate how mental health services are changing and now promote talent and extend skills which can be used in many other areas of our daily lives.” The KCC funded service offers one-to-one individualised services within the community where clients have been supported to participate in volunteering in the library, Age Concern and other venues where individuals can get together and now meet confidently without staff support.

Chief Executive, Linda Leonard, said she was delighted that the art group had received this recognition and encouraged everyone to visit the art exhibition which was such an achievement for those individuals in the group.
